Did you know you can juice melons? In this recipe you can try honeydew melon or cantaloupe, they both will work.  Melons in general are great for alkalinizing the body because of their high water content. They are a great addition to your diet if you are trying to lose weight, keep your skin clear, stay hydrated,  or just get your daily fruit and veg. -XoXo Raw Girl

This might be a silly question, but what about melon in smoothies?

Hi Jillian, don’t worry thats not silly 🙂 You can definitely use melons in smoothies they are wonderful. I would try not to get too crazy with the combinations if you feel gassy though, because based on food combining principles, sometimes its best it eat melons alone. Keep it simple and enjoy! XoXo

hey there! i don’t have a juicer but have a high powered blender and i make fruit and vegetable smoothies. do you get the same nutritional benefits from (non dairy) smoothies as you do with juices? thanks again. love this blog!

Thanks for reading! Smoothies are great because you keep all of the fiber and nutrients. Juicing gives the body a bit of a break from digesting so much hard food and nutrients literally go to your bloodstream but you do loose some fiber. I wouldn’t say one is superior; it really depends on your objectives. If you are aiming to clear your skin and detox, juicing is best. Daily meals and increasing nutrient intake, smoothies are great. -XoXo
