Kimchi! A Probiotic Powerhouse

March 25, 2013

kimchi-635Have you ever fallen in love with a dish so much that you start to crave it regularly? Well at the moment, I heart kimchi and its powerful bad bacteria fighting properties. Kimchi is a spicy fermented cabbage that originates from Korea. It has a spicy, sour, awesome tangy flavor  that really does it for me, but then again, I love pepper. Apparently this probiotic powerhouse historically has 187 different versions of it’s recipe. In Korea, where it is eaten with almost every meal, it helped protect against an epidemic of SARS back in 2003, and the same good bacteria available in kimchi even helped to restore Korean chickens who caught the H5N1 (avian flu) virus! That just gives you a bit of an idea of how gangsta kimchi can be in protecting against the worst kinds of viruses and bacteria and boosting your immune system. The lactic acid that produced during the fermentation process stops the growth of bad bacteria and is useful in the prevention of conditions such as yeast infections, urinary tract infections, obesity, diabetes, and gastrointestinal cancers.

Nutrition-wise kimchi is low in calories and sugar but contain high amounts of fiber, vitamins A and C, and minerals such as calcium and iron. It also has high levels of beta carotene and after undergoing three weeks of fermentation the levels of B1, B2, and B12 double. In addition to all this groovy nutrition kimchi can help to reduce indigestion and gas by ridding the body of excess bad bacteria, and also help you feel fuller because the good bacteria in the gut stabilizes blood sugar levels and keeps from intense hunger pangs and cravings. For those non-dairy eaters like myself, it’s also good to know that kimchi contains more good bacteria than yogurt. Another win for the dairy-free team.

Most kimchi that is readily available at Asian grocery stores are most likely NOT vegan as they may use anchovy in the process. If you are interested in trying this spicy old cabbage dish, you can find gluten-free and vegan versions of kimchi with varying levels of spiciness at natural food stores that are pretty awesome or try making it on your own so you can have larger quantities. After the initial fermentation process, kimchi lasts anywhere from three to six months in the fridge and with time the amounts of good bacteria available continue to increase. The process is pretty intense and traditionally the cabbage is buried in the ground during the fermentation process. Um, since that isn’t happening for most of us (raises hand) you can leave it out in your kitchen shortly and then put it in the fridge. In the next few weeks I’ll be working on my own sauerkraut and kimchi recipes and will be sure to report back when I’ve reached the fermented cabbage promise land. Until then, make sure to include probiotics and fermented foods in your diet. I will highlight more soon on the blog. They are super important and can help you achieve balance quickly when dealing with candida, parasites, indigestion, and even acne. -XoXo Raw Girl

Live Wild Blueberry Yogurt

February 27, 2013

LIVE YOGURT_RGlogo
Didn’t get around to having dinner until late last night, so I opted for a blended meal and came up with this wonderful concoction which I’ll be including in the parasite detox coming soon to a blog near you. Has a few key ingredients that help to give parasites a run for their money and some power ingredients that pack it with nutrients for optimal health. It’s also a nice addition to a cleanse because it’ll give some variation to all the greens you have to eat to kill those buggers. I had kombucha on hand so I decided to add that to my recipe as a bonus. It was pretty amazing, and after devouring the large glass, I realized that adding kombucha adds in live cultures, which is perfect for making your own “live yogurt!”  If  you are craving something creamy like yogurt…just FYI, any  smoothie can be made into a “yogurt” recipe by adding in an extra avocado or  banana to keep the mixture thicker. However, If you are doing a parasite cleanse you should avoid sweet fruits like banana. Eat with a spoon and have fun with garnishes. Try topping your live yogurt with raw granola, shredded coconut, or dried or fresh berries. -XoXo Raw Girl

Garlic Kale Parasite-Killa Salad & 14 Day Detox Coming Soon!

February 20, 2013

GARLIC PARASITE KILLING SALADIt’s that time again and I’ve got my apple cider vinegar, hot pepper, coconut water, and green juice ammo ready. I’m conducting a gangster parasite cleanse, and this time, I am documenting my efforts so that I can provide all of you with a blueprint to give the buggers a run for their money. Just in case you are completely clueless, parasites are organisms that  you can pick up a variety of ways including pets, meat, kissing other people who have parasites, dirty hands, unclean water etc. Once your body is inhabited by these critters you may experience a range of symptoms that may diagnosed as other diseases and experience uncontrollable cravings for sugar and carbs. In my case, back in the day, parasites caused my acne problem. Now that I am a black belt in parasite-killing judo, my mission is to use this coming month to distill all of this knowledge into a 14 Day Parasite Detox, which I will be selling on the blog along with a 7 Day and 14 Day Juice Detox which are already complete. This salad will be among one of the recipes I include in the cleanse which will have green juice recipes and mostly green salads and other meals that give parasites a run for their money. If you are currently battling parasites or soon to embark on a cleanse, stay tuned, and may the veggie force be with you. -XoXo Raw Girl

Ingredients:

1 Bunch Green Kale

1 Bunch Lacinato Kale

Kalamata Olives

1 Ripe Avocado

Handful of Garlic Cloves (adjust for personal tolerance)

2-3 capfuls of Extra Virgin Olive Oil

pinch of Sea Salt (optional or in place of Braggs)

2 capfuls Organic Apple Cider Vinegar

Smoothie! Moringa Mango Madness & the Anti-Aging Anti-Parasitic Benefits of Moringa

August 27, 2012

So last week we introduced the miracle tree, Moringa Oleifera. As extensive as that article was, we barely skimmed the surface. If you haven’t read part 1 I suggest you check out the first blog post on Moringa here. In addition to the nutritional benefits of Moringa like the fact that it contains more than 92 nutrients and 46 types of antioxidants, moringa is extremely beneficial for slowing the aging process and guess what, killing parasites! If you are a regular reader of this blog, you should know how much I love any natural product that I can add to my parasite killing arsenal.

If you don’t know, antioxidants are key in slowing the aging process because they neutralize free radicals. The combination of superior nutritional value, which in includes providing all eight essential amino acids and 18 of the 20 amino acids absolutely essential for good health, seven times the Vitamin C content of oranges, four times the Vitamin A of carrots, four times the calcium of milk,  and three times the potassium of bananas, high amounts of iron, along with 46 antioxidants makes moringa probably one of the strongest natural sources of antioxidants. In the O.R.A.C. rest (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity) test, moringa was tested against and beat out superfoods like acai, dark chocolate, garlic, blueberries, goji berries, pomegranate, red wine, and baobab for the most antioxidant capacity.

In addition to the powerful antioxidants, moringa leaves contain healthy amounts of cytokinins, which are naturally occuring plant hormones that induce cell division, growth, and delay aging of cells. Clinical studies have shown that this compound also called Moringa YSP produces anti-aging properties in humans and caused new skin cells grew faster than the older cells died. This resulted in an almost miraculous reduction of wrinkles on the face and other parts of the body. Sound better than botox? I think so.

Now lets get to the parasite killing properties of this other worldly plant. Moringa not only kills parasites, it kills their eggs as well! This is really important to note because in most parasite cleanses, even ones you buy over the counter you have to take cloves in combination with black walnut hull and wormwood to effectively combat both the worms and their eggs. The cleansing effect cause by taking moringa has been used by traditional people to combat worms for years and years. It can effectively help to get rid of waste and parasites while also providing enough nourishment to rectify any imbalances caused by the worms as they leave your body. I am very excited about incorporating this tree into my diet long term for nutrition and to combat parasites and plan to grow it. Last week, I bought some moringa powder and I’m testing out this particular brand. I plan to find the best, most potent brand of leaf powder and continue ongoing use. Will most definitely report back my results! If you want to check out what I am using now, go the Raw Girl Store, and you’ll see it under super foods. Below is the recipe for my first moringa smoothie. -XoXo Raw Girl

Moringa Mango Madness Smoothie

Ingredients: 2 bananas, 1 cup to 1.5 cups of frozen mango, 1 tablespoon moringa powder, 1 tablespoon flaxseed, Young thai coconut water and meat or almond milk.

Put all ingredients in blender. Blend, serve, enjoy! :)

Natural Cures: Diatemaceous Earth for Detox & Parasites

July 25, 2012

Diatemaceous Earth is an amazing substance I discovered through a girlfriend of mine who had some crazy run-ins with some bugs and needed something that would be quick, effective, and most importantly natural. This substance which is a mouthful to pronounce, is composed mainly of silica, occurs naturally, and is mined all over the world. Not only is DE good for killing pests such as fleas, ticks, roaches, and slugs (perfect as an organic pesticide), but its also extremely safe for human consumption and helps fight off parasitic infections, cleans the colon, and aids in overall detoxification of the body. Many bread manufacturers actually use DE in their products to prevent pests from eating them. One of the most amazing things about DE is how it actually works. On a microscopic level, DE has a honeycomb structure with razor sharp edges which gets caught into the exoskeleton of the pests and literally slices them up and dries them out. They are made of fossilized diatoms of prehistoric algae which look like cylinders. As these millions of cylinders move through the stomach and digestive tract, they attract and absorb fungi, protozoa, viruses, endotoxins, pesticides, drug residues, E.coli, and heavy metals. These are trapped inside the cylinder and passed out of the body.

DE is easily ground up into a fine powder very similar to talcum, and is usually simply taken with a glass of water. Now before you jump out of your seat to go and quickly purchase some (which is super affordable by the way) it is important to know that if you consume DE you MUST take FOOD GRADE diatomaceous earth. There is also Industrial DE which is used mainly as a pool filter and has a more crystallized form of silica which you do NOT want to take. So FOOD GRADE not INDUSTRIAL…alright we get the picture. Anyways, food grade diatomaceous earth is composed of 80-90% Silica which is an important trace element that plays an important role in mineral absorption, as an antioxidant and is great for healthy skin, hair, and nails. And not only that, there are NO negative side effects. My girlfriend noticed after a month of taking one heaping tablespoon every morning that not only did she have increased energy levels but her nails were growing strong, and she was detoxing more heavily. It also helped with that bug problem too.

Diatemaceous Earth is one of those substances that is good for just about everything and has multiple uses for your body, around the house, and in the yard all at the same time. I’ve just purchased my own and I’m excited about it’s cleansing properties, which are useful this time of year. Silica is a trace element that is very important in preserving skin, bone, and cartilage health. DE is 80-90% silica which is what makes it such a great wound healer. If you happen to have any pets, you can also rub it on their fur to keep away any pests. Below is a brief outline on some more of the goodness Diatemaceous earth offers. Based on this list, you may agree it’s something worth trying. - XoXo Nicola, signing in for Raw Girl

Dear Raw Girl: Parasites That Won’t Go Away

January 19, 2012

Dear Raw Girl:  The worms seem resistant to the cleanses.  I do believe everything happens for a reason.  We all have more awareness about the food that enters out bodies.  Just a few questions: How much apple cider vinegar daily?  Raw garlic?  Do the worms have a cycle they go through and then finally leave?  How long of a process is this, until we are free from the parasites?   Feel free to use my name, whatever.  I’m shocked that there isn’t more information and pictures up on the web.  We can’t be the only ones with these parasites. Thank you,  Kelli Lofgren Salt Lake City, UT

Dearest Kelli: First off sooo sorry for the delay in response! Just saw your email. Disclaimer–I am not, at least yet ;) a doctor. For now, since it is an emergency—-you can drink properly diluted apple cider vinegar as much as you want throughout the day with no ill side effects–by adding it to water. You can add garlic to meals, but an easier way to take in garlic that has provided me with relief is to take Kyolic Garlic  pills they are odorless and you can get more garlic for your buck. Read the recommended dosage and take that twice a day. I now take those regularly to prevent parasites altogether. The process of getting rid of a parasite cannot be quantified in terms of length of time—it really depends on how aggressive you are with maintaining an alkaline diet free of sugars/carbs (that help them grow). The amount of time it takes to die can vary; especially if you continue to eat foods that keep them alive. If you are persistent for a straight month and are not getting rid of worms then, you may want to try to go to a doctor to get tested to see if you can find out what kind of worms you have. At times different worms require a different plan of attack. It took me MONTHS the first time around to become parasite-free, probably 3 months to be exact. Now if I’m feeling like I need a cleanse, I can aggressive go at it for 2 weeks to a month and see results. Most over the counter parasite cleanses are 2 week-long cleanses, but if you do those without also keeping your diet alkaline, especially sugar and carb-free, you may have your unwanted guests staying a little longer. I hope this was of some help to you. Check out my past posts on parasites and foods that are useful and stay focused. You will be parasite-free! -XoXo Raw Girl

Natural Cures: The Wonders of Bentonite Clay

March 21, 2011

Years ago, my skin was horrible. Just before I started to really change my diet, a colleague of mine who was deep in the holistic lifestyle introduced me to bentonite clay to use on my skin. I was amazed at how it seemed to literally suck impurities out of my pores and left my skin feeling tight and firm.  Since then, I have kept a large container of bentonite in my bathroom amongst my beauty products, and every now and then I can be seen roaming around the house with my bentonite mask on.

Besides it’s ability to be used topically on the skin to heal acne, eczema, wounds, insect bites (worked for me with mosquito bites–shrunk them down in a day), bentonite can also be taken internally and can heal anything from heavy metal posioning, food allergies, food poisoning, mucus colitis, spastic colitis, digestive disorders, viral infections, stomach flu, ***parasites (apparently parasites cannot reproduce in the presence of clay), stomach ulcers, diarrhea, arthritis, anemia, and the list goes on.

This miraculous clay has been used by indigenous people since the dawn of time, and even animals in the wild have been observed eating the clay or rolling in it to heal wounds. It gets its name from Benton, Wyoming; although bentonite clay can be found throughout the world, the largest concentrations of it actually are in the Great Plains in the U.S.

So how exactly does it work?  Well, the clay itself has a negative electrical charge. When it absorbs water it expands and becomes like a porous sponge. Toxins and impurities have a positive charge, so they are drawn to the clay and bound. Not only is this clay amazing for intestinal health because of its ability to eliminate toxins, according to the Canadian Journal of Microbiology it also can absorb pathogenic viruses, herbicides, and pesticides. Want to make the clay more effective? Use apple cider vinegar to mix your mask instead of water.

You can find bentonite clay in powder, capsule, or gel form. Make sure if you are taking it internally, the kind you purchase specifies that the clay is safe for internal use.  To start you can take up to a tablespoon a day mixed with juice on an empty stomach or at least an hour before eating. Its very important if you take bentonite internally, that you drink sufficient amounts of water, to assist the body in flushing it out. Whether your looking for a beauty boost, or some internal healing, bentonite clay is a powerful natural remedy not to be overlooked! -XoXo Raw Girl

The Wonders of Organic Unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar: A Parasite Killa’s Best Friend

June 15, 2010

(scrapetv.com) Do you want to be a Ghostbuster or Parasite Killa? Hint: one of them may still have intestinal worms.

If you ever catch me on the go you may see me guzzling a 16 oz Bragg Apple Cider Vinegar drink like I’m the loser at a beer pong party. (FYI: I don’t drink alcohol, so I only know about gatherings such as these from movies and programming on MTV, no firsthand beer pongage going on over here.) I drink them in the morning, in my car, while catwalking on M Street in Georgetown, and sometimes when the sun goes down. Why you ask is this Raw Girl so gung-ho about vinegar?  Well, ever since I improved my overall health and well-being by taking on a parasite cleanse, I have grown wary of letting the suckers come back and get the best of me ever again. That means adopting a mostly green diet, limiting sugar intake, and regularly incorporating foods I know they don’t like, just in case.

Remember Ghostbusters?  If you don’t for some odd reason it’s about a trio of misfit parapsychologists start hunting ghosts for a living in this science fiction comedy. Although I wish the existence of parasites was limited to fiction, my first parasite cleanse  proved the opposite, and converted me from an average girl to a bona fide  Parasite Killa. I learned quickly that if you were about to be taken out by parasites, Apple Cider Vinegar is like a Parasite Killa’s best ammo. Although there are many types of parasites and different foods irritate different worms, there are some parasites that will die automatically just with persistent consumption of apple cider vinegar. I can personally attest to this without giving you any wormy details. This should never be the only remedy you use if you do have worms, as additional herbs and cleansing will be needed depending on the types in your body. For prevention, a daily concoction of this diluted in water and drunk straight or mixed with honey definitely gets a gold seal.

Why is this exactly? Apple Cider Vinegar helps restore a proper hydrochloric acid balance in the body, and therefore promotes good bacteria and creates an environment in which parasites cannot thrive. It is a fermented drink, and if you remember my previous post, consumption of fermented foods is essential for great colon health. (Check out link below if you missed it.) In tandem with these benefits that give strength to a budding Parasite Killa, apple cider vinegar also provides a host of other benefits that may appeal to any health enthusiast:

  •  Aids proper digestion and can cure constipation
  • Can help fight bacterial and fungal infections
  • Can relieve join pain
  • Balance cholesterol
  • Can help heal skin conditions such as acne. age spots, and reduces the appearance of cellulite
  • Protects against food poisoning
  • Increases stamina
  • Boosts metabolism and assists with weight loss
  • Prevents bladder stones and urinary tract infections
  • Known to be helpful with a host of ailments: constipation, headaches, arthritis, weak bones, indigestion, high cholesterol, diarrhea, eczema, sore eyes, chronic fatigue, mild food poisoning, hair loss, high blood pressure, obesity etc.

In addition to these zany health benefits, the nutritional profile of apple cider vinegar is quite impressive. The vinegar contains a host of vitamins, beta-carotene, pectin and vital minerals such as potassium, sodium, magnesium, calcium, phosphorous, chlorine, sulphur, iron, and fluorine. Pretty gangsta, if you ask me. If you’re ready to start killin’ those worms, or if you just want to incorporate something groovy that’ll enhance your health, get on the apple cider vinegar bandwagon.  Two tablespoons added to a glass of water is sufficent. You can try a little more if you like, but make sure there is a LOT more water than vinegar. Make sure you always dilute the vinegar, as it is highly acidic when not diluted and if consumed straight in large amounts can lead to loss of teeth enamel or a yellowish color on your teeth. Always buy only the ORGANIC and UNFILTERED kind. The others will not give you the same benefits and do not have the same vitamins and minerals in tact.  - XoXo Raw Girl

P.S. My cheesy Raw Girl Parasite Killa soundtrack:

When there’s something strange rumbling in ur tummy – Who u gonna call? PARASITE KILLAS! When ur energy’s low & you don’t feel good – Who you gonna call? PARASITE KILLAS! (I ain’t afraid of no worms)

Natural Cures: How to Stay Acne-Free

May 10, 2010

powerhealths.com

The other day I made a makeup-less run to one of the health food stores I frequent in Fairfax, and the man at the checkout who usually greets me started raving about my skin. I explained to him that it was my raw diet and large amounts of coconut water, and he asked if it couldn’t  be genetics? I replied that yes, I do actually have great genes, thanks to my parents, but that not too long ago before I changed my diet, acne was a HUGE issue for me.

He was shocked, but I wasn’t kidding. And to make matters worse, the clarity of my skin happens to be um,  kind of important as an actress, and at the time I was also doing some modeling. So it was driving me insane to say the least. After trying the traditional things people tell you try, which is mostly addressing the issue with topical creams, solutions, face washes etc. I threw them all in the trash. Right then and there I decided that I was going to have to start over and makeover my insides in order to have truly radiant skin that would stay that way. So for this Natural Cures segment, I am going to give you some tidbits to assist in curing acne the natural way, although I could seriously write a dissertation on the subject.

1. NO Processed Foods, no meat except perhaps cold water fish, and no dairy. That means no junk, no chips, no cola, no cookies, no refined sugar, no hydrogenated or saturated fats, and in a lot of cases cutting out carbs will help as well because they raise blood sugar levels and can add fuel to already wonky hormones, which in turn cause more acne. If you have acne, it is a DIS-EASE, and is pointing to the fact that you most likely have a toxic body, and need to detox and consume alkaline foods. Period. There’s no getting around it, sorry. I’m telling your this now to save you the 39.95 you would have spent on the latest infomercial miracle solution destined to take your acne away. The great news is that once you get your body to a more alkaline state, raw and vegan desserts are better than great, and lots of yummy creations can be created that are not processed and refined sugar-free to fill the void. But at the beginning, sugar has to be cut down, and refined sugar should be eliminated completely from your diet.

2. Take a Chill Pill. Meditate, do yoga, take a walk, or just plain BREATHE deep. They say that stress can also play a factor in acne, mostly because when our emotional state is out of whack it can throw our hormones even more out of balance, and actually, we can create dis-ease.  This explains how sometimes people even on very healthy diets can develop cancer and other terminal diseases. A woman on a very healthy vegan diet who had cancer once explained to me that she knew for a fact that the source of her cancer was repressing the negative emotions she had from years in an abusive marriage. When her husband passed away, she immediately developed cancer. Negative emotions are toxins too, so its important to find whatever works for you and tap into that inner zen.

3. Clean Your Colon. This is HUGE when it comes to staying acne-free. Once I understood this principle, I never had an issue with acne again. Most of the time, acne happens when our colons are clogged up and we are constipated, meaning our bowel movements have not caught up with the amount of food we are eating. When this happens and waste piles up, the body responds by trying to push toxins out through the skin in the form of pimples. Once I started to get this, if I saw a breakout, I would do some form of a colon cleanse, whether it be colonic or enema, and literally the next day the pimples had vanished! Why waste your time piling chemicals on your face, when a little t.l.c. for your colon goes a long way?

4. Get Rid of Those Parasites! I really wish someone broke down the parasite issue for me a long time ago, but I guess everything happens in right time. This point, is what really changed everything for me, because I realized that the root cause of my acne, sugar and carb cravings was parasites! They were inside of me dictating cravings, and causing almost rash like outbreaks of acne on my face. This ties hand in hand with avoiding junk foods, because those are the foods parasites love to grow and thrive in. If you eat alkaline and get real friendly with some herbs like black walnut hull and wormwood and those suckers will die. Warning: Taking on a battle with parasites is not for wimps, so you better tap into your inner gangster and get to cleansing. (Check out previous posts for more on parasites.)

5. Find Nutritional Balance. Very frequently, people with acne are out of balance in some way. Just like any other dis-ease, the condition can stem from too much of something, in this case perhaps refined sugar, carbs, etc. or too little of other things: zinc, sulfur, omega-3 etc. So, it is very important that you begin to eat a wide range of foods that are fresh and nutrient dense that give your body what you need, and also to supplement with super greens like chlorella and spirulina to rectify any longstanding nutritional deficiencies and boost your immune system.

6. Stop Putting Chemicals on Your Face! I know when you are dealing with the annoying fact that your face is covered with pimples, it’s only natural to jump for anything that could be a quick fix. Unfortunately the majority of the quick fixes don’t really work, and/or if they do, it doesn’t rid you of the root cause. If you are like I was, fed up and ready for change, it is time for you to focus on your insides and discover what exactly about your diet, colon health etc. is causing your acne. The long-term solution is definitely not putting on a bunch of chemical acne washes and creams, which usually include parabens which can later cause cancer. As hard as it may be, it is better to take a good look at what you are using on your skin and make sure you understand what all the ingredients are in your products. Really what we put on our skin should be virtually edible and natural so as not to aggravate or add more toxicity to our system. The only product that I use regularly that can zap skin issues in a hurry is BENTONITE CLAY. Talk about having skin like a baby’s bottom…when you use this miracle clay as a mask, you can literally feel it sucking out toxins from your skin.

I hope you are fired up and ready to stay acne-free or that you will pass this on to someone you know who may need some advice. Very soon I will also post a  link to an article that addresses the issue even more in-depth. The principles behind the tips above are incredibly simple but of course, it will take some real stamina and strong desire to truly become and stay Acne-Free.  Warning: sometimes the issue initially gets worse, because as you eat more alkaline, more toxins will be trying to push out of your system. This is where colon cleansing comes in and makes a huge difference. If you can stick it out when the going gets rough, I promise you, you won’t be sorry. Most likely, at the end of your journey you will find yourself with an all-natural glow you never thought you’d have, and people will be clamoring to know your secret.

The Anti-Parasite Diet: Foods that Make Parasites Run for Cover

March 15, 2010

Embarking on a parasite cleanse can be extremely frustrating. You are dying to get those critters out of you, but have to work against the fact that a lot of times, parasites dictate your cravings.  Another frustrating point is that different parasites feed on different foods to thrive. So in order to really do some damage, a general parasite cleanse can be a great help but its also necessary to consume a wide range of foods that irritate parasites to ensure you have killed the various types.

As I continue on my parasite cleanse for this year, I have done a great deal of research on what foods and herbs people say assist the body in killing worms. This is the list of foods and herbs that I have compiled thus far and have incorporated in my diet, in order to really whip out a gangsta can of  Raw Girl whoop-ass and rid my body of parasites.

1. Raw Garlic – One of the number one ways to kill parasites. All effective parasite cleanses always include garlic.

2. Apple Cider Vinegar – Increase stomach acids with Apple Cider Vinegar  prior to your meals. This will keep the stomach free of parasites and  will also ensure that you will kill off any larvae you inadvertantly eat with your meals.

3. Pumpkin Seeds – Can help to get rid of tapeworms.

4. Pineapple – Contain an enzyme bromelain, that is anti-parisitic. A couple sources claim that a three day pineapple fast will kill tape worms.

5. Cranberry Juice (unsweetened) or  Carrot Juice & Carrots – Cranberry juice can be diluted in water. Carrots the juice or the veggie eaten plain kills em as well.

6. Coconut Oil – Contains lauric acid which is found in coconut products. Coconut oil is about 50% comprised of this  saturated fat which after converted by the body creates a substance that efficiently kills parasites, yeasts, viruses, and pathogenic bacteria in the gut.

7. Fennel Seed Tea – Is a mild laxative and can be an irritant to certain types of parasites.

8. Herbs: Cloves,Wormwood, Black walnut hull and husks – These herbs are always incorporated into an effective parasite cleanse and should be among the ingredients listed in the capsules you take daily from parasite cleanses that can be bought in health food stores. Cloves kills the parasite eggs that may be lingering in the intestinal tract. Black walnut hull and wormwood kill the adult and developmental stages of around 100 different types of parasites. All three are essential.

9. Pungent Spices – Spices such as: turmeric, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, cardamom, chilis, horseradish, and cayenne, all make parasites run for cover.

10. Probiotics/ Fermented Foods – Some options that can be made at home include: sauerkraut (fermented cabbage) or drinking rejuvelac (a drink made from fermented grains such as wheat berries). You can also take probiotic supplements. These help to replenish good bacteria and kill the bad.

Once again, if you didn’t know, you can get parasites a myriad of ways:  from your pets, your loved ones—or anyone you kiss, also from shaking hands (washing hands regularly is key).
